Dark days pass into light…
Despite the wars, the failing economy, the closing banks, the massive foreclosures and a $700 billion bailout, the country felt good last week when it elected a young, African American to be President. Hope triumphed over fear, change prevailed over the status quo and issues trumped emotion. Every one I speak to, no matter who they voted for, wishes our new President-Elect well and that he will somehow end the way in which business is conducted in Washington.
In the words of Franklin D. Roosevelt, “The country needs and, unless I mistake its temper, the country demands bold, persistent experimentation. It is common sense to take a method and try it. If it fails, admit it frankly and try another. But above all try something.” 76 years later, we are at another turning point, where we can give up on outmoded ways of thinking and approach the world from a completely fresh and new perspective and I am looking forward to the result.
Change has come to America.
