Harry Reid: You Can Smell Tourists Coming Into Capitol?! Thanks
Oh no you didn’t, Harry Reid! Fox reports that when dedicating the Capitol Visitor Center, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid actually said that due to the high heat and humidity in Washington in the summertime, you coul smell tourists coming into the Capitol. Apparently one of the prime benefits of the $621 million project that is 4 years behind schedule abd $350 million over budget is that lawmakers will not have to smell the taxpayers who actually paid for the building (and Mr. Reid’s salary).
Oh yes, he did.
And on another note, given the tremendous debt that we have right now and that most of Michigan is living on food stamps, spending that kind of money on a visitor center, but not gathering the votes to save jobs that will keep people off of public assistance – you really have to wonder what they are doing up on that hill.
