Anti-Gay Westboro Baptist Protestors Coming to S. Florida

Westboro Baptist ChurchWestboro Baptist “Church” at the University of Chicago

According to the Chicagoist, the infamous Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kansas visited the University of Chicago in March of this year, but they did not get what they expected.  The University of Chicqago students were ready for them with a protest of their own aqnd they outnumbered them.  The UC stendents even riased money for the Broadway Youth Center by serving food.  They also collected signatures to overturn California’s proposition 8.  Good for them for turning what could be such a negative into a positive event.

The Westboro Group is “A small, radical Kansas church that has made headlines for picketing Iraq War veterans’ funerals plans to protest an America it believes has gone pro-gay and anti-God.”

Accordong to McClatchy.com, the Westboro Baptist group is now headed to South Florida to target Calvary Chapel in Fort Lauderdale; St. Thomas Episcopal, University Baptist and Church of the Little Flower in Coral Gables; Temple Israel in Miami; the University of Miami Law School graduation, and the consulates of Japan, Israel, Argentina, Brazil and Chile.”

Something wicked this way comes.

  1. I have seen the documentary on these nut jobs and to see them actually speak about their beliefs and to go behind the scenes where they actually print all their vile posters, is a sickening experience.

God help us all if these people think that they are acting in his name…

Reply: Yes, indeed. This is why I have always had issues with organized religion.
