Wake Up America!
Another death, this time from an apparent member of the Free Republic who walked up to the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C. with a rifle. You can see the CNN story here. I came home from a long day and saw this piece from Daily Kos indicating that the shooter, James Von Brunn, was a member of Free Republic. Readers of this blog may remember the Free Republic from this blog post and the abusive comments that blog post caused from this group. They want to be considered “comservatives” or “Libertarians” yet others would say they are just another hate group. Please see this from Kos.
Readers also may remember when the Department of Homeland Security came out with a report that indicated that right wing hate groups were on the rise and that theree was a growing threat of domestic terrorism caused outrage from the GOP. I had seen the hate. Journalists had seen the hate. It was not hard to find. See my post on that here.
Wake up America. The GOP and Faux News has ratcheted up the right wingnuttery with their fearmongering and lies. WE are in danger. The President is in danger.
Something needs to be done.

Hmmmmmm, I sorta remember some report by Homeland Security about Right Wing Extremism, and then an apology being offered for the report. Screw Limbaugh, Malkin, Hannity, Huckabee, Gingrich and any other wing nut who made a political football out of that report. Disengenuous bastards.

Well you know how I feel about this nuttiness. I am sick and tired of it. All of it. I dont want to hear anymore ands ifs or buts about this sort of bullshit.
You are either Americans in a country with other citizens, or you think you have special rights to threaten and hunt and kill those who do not agree with you.
The latter, I will remind readers that people do have a reasonable right to defend themselves under those circumstances. I aint no sitting duck.
So Law Enforcement, Mr Obama, –people in charge! Do your damn jobs and start prosecuting these people for the laws they are breaking.

Don’t even get me started on this. There is no decency or honesty left in the world of Journalism anymore. Our 24/7 news cycle is no better than the next reality show that makes its way into our lives. I feel like getting into my bed and covering myself up over my head and staying there.
Last July 4th, I drove down to DC with some friends. Two of these friends were from Canada and Finland. One of the stops we made was The Holocaust Museum. The experience of walking through those halls is indescribable. Out of the 5 people that I was with, I was the only one of the Jewish faith. When we all finally met outside, my friend from Finland, who by the way found the whole experience so emotional that she had to go outside at least 30 minutes before I did, turned to me and asked my how I could not have been completely torn up inside from seeing that place from the eyes of a Jew.
For this monster to have entered these hallowed halls, that already hold the tears and pain of the millions who died, is a desecration in its most vilest form. What is this world coming to?
Reply: Agreed Willpen. Just mind boggling. I am also floored by the reaction from Limbaugh and the other right wingnuts who are now claiming this was a leftist act. This is so irresponsible that i am at a loss for words.
